Glebe Rd Community Kindergarten & Pre School Assn Inc

Operation

This single unit centre is affiliated with C&K and is administered as an incorporated association by the committee of current parents. The centre is primarily funded by the State Government through Education Queensland. Fees and fundraising make up the balance. We operate as a non-profit organisation meeting all government regulations.

Our opening hours are between Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, Friday from 8:00am to 3:36pm.

Staff

Our teaching staff are highly qualified and experienced in all areas of early childhood education and possess tertiary teaching qualifications. Teachers are registered with the board of Teacher Registration and have specialised Early Childhood qualifications. Our assistants have completed a minimum Certificate III in Childcare qualifications. All our staff members hold current blue Suitability Card (or exemption cards) and First Aid Certificates including CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis. Our directors are also Mental Health First Aiders.

Environment

We have created a rich aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor environment that offers a wide range of equipment, resources and experiences for your child. At Glebe Road, children and families are respected, valued and treated with honesty, integrity and compassion. Our centre's warm, caring environment ensures that all children and families feel welcome & comfortable.

Parent Support

Our children's parents and extended families are encouraged to participate in the day to day program. This promotes close knit home/school cooperation and helps the child move easily into our environment - which is an extension of the learning that takes place at home. We look forward to getting to know you and working together to provide the best education for your child.

Glebe Rd offers pre-prep education in two groups. One group will attend Monday and Tuesday. The other group will attend Thursday and Friday. Each group will have a maximum of 22 children enrolled.

Families may ring the centre on (07) 3281 1907 to place their child on our waiting list any time after the child's birth.

Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children in the year before they attend school. When places are available, 3-year old children may be able to attend.

C&K's kindergarten programs are guided by university-qualified teachers and support children to be curious, capable, and collaborative learners.

At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, for us learning is partnership between teachers, children, parents, and communities.

Our curriculum approach, Listening and Learning Together, aligns with both The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).

It continues the longstanding traditions and philosophical commitments of C&K to our children, families and communities. Read more about the history of C&K.

We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations, nurture healthy minds and bodies, as children explore, experiment, play and learn.

Learning through play is an integral part of our education program. Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child.

Your child's learning journey is shared with you via conversations with your child's educators and through written documentation in your centre, and in some centres through StoryPark (an app and website).
