Welcome 

C&K Middlemount Community Childcare Centre is a Branch Centre located in Central Queensland. Middlemount is a small mining community located approximately 3 hours inland from Rockhampton & Mackay. C&K Middlemount Community Childcare Centre is very fortunate to contain large indoor and outdoor play spaces supporting natural play environments for children and families to enjoy. 
 
C&K Middlemount Community Childcare Centre caters for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age, including a government approved Kindergarten Program. At C&K Middlemount Community Childcare Centre, we provide a connected and caring environment for children and families to feel welcome, connected and engaged. 

Child-Led Learning 

No two days are the same at C&K Middlemount. Children are recognised as competent & capable, learners, thinkers & theorisers. We endeavour to support each child’s interest to guide their learning and development. Play-based intentional-teaching plays an integral roll throughout the whole services’ programming and planning. Children are encouraged and valued to share their experiences, thoughts and ideas towards the program. 

Community Spirit 

Community spirit is important to us at C&K Middlemount. Being the only care service in the Middlemount community we have strong, respectful, and collaborative partnerships with stakeholders throughout the community. Educators are committed to and invested in ensuring that children are provided with many opportunities to explore and identify what/who is in the community. 

Birth to Three Approach 

At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our youngest children at C&K childcare centres. The Birth to Three approach which we have developed is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and allow children the time to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.

How can flexible bookings help?

C&K offers flexible booking options, designed to help you maximise your Child Care Subsidy and access to early childhood education and care while minimising family's out-of-pocket costs. Our 9 and 10 hour sessions work in with your schedule and start once your child is signed in, not a set start and finish time.

How does C&K decide fees?

As a not-for-profit organisation, C&K reinvests any surplus back into our centres and programs to better achieve outcomes for all children and communities.
